about

The Banner is the result of Jay Sad and James Hicken swapping tracks remotely. The album was recorded in Toronto, New York City, Oakland, and Chennai.

The album was loosely inspired by R.K. Narayan's novel Mr. Sampath (published in 1948). A writer is willing to do whatever it takes to support his independent journal named the banner.
